  10. Final Fantasy VII - The best and greatest video game hands down. There will never be another like it.

Also suggestions: There used to be a lot of questions about your time in Sonata Arctica and your departure (People who have not been privy to previous posts might still have misconceptions about it). Also constant questions about CO, the new album, stratovarius, etc, etc.I think it might be worthwhile to put that stuff on this page if we are holding to the true definition of FAQ.

You don't really own it anyway, those are bootlegs, if everybody who have bootleg would made them public, it wouldn't be a problem.. it's not like a paint or something.. You don't legaly own it anyway.

    3. Jordi:
everyone ask me this, but I think it would be better to make them public later, have not come to light recently and after a few years will be better, and future generations can know the Jani and Mikko era, the best of the band. (personal opinion)
I've also never win money to collect these things, is a hobby and I would like to useful later.

    6. Hi, I'm "imcominforyou" from YouTube. I try to consistently upload SA bootlegs for everyone else to watch. The only problem now is that I've been suspended from uploading videos over 15 minutes. So I have a question for you...Would you rather have me upload shows in 15 minute segments, or do it song-by-song? Here are some shows I have right now that aren't uploaded.

Sonata Arctica - Entrance to Kingdom, Japan
Sonata Arctica - La Locomotive, Paris, France
SA - Mazda Palace, Italy (includes interviews)
      SA - Brazil 2008
SA - Opera House, Toronto, Canada

      Delete
    7. Woot I'm one of your subscribers. Amazing quality of your vids dude. Not song by song, because it'll take lot of time. Go and upload shows in 15 minute segments :) Let me do one question: You asked why the hell did a youtube guy got acces to 13th Disciple, do you have any news?

      Delete
    8. My only guess is that the uploader (who I hear is Finnish) received the track from the drummer, Hurtsi, who he thanks in the description on the video. But something interesting to note is that on Blabbermouth, before the album was released, it was said that 13th Disciple was going to be a track on the album...Probably stuff you could figure out yourself, but thought I would mention it. That's why I think Jani doesn't know about how 13th Disciple was leaked.

  35. Hey Jani, have you tried jagermeister in high doses? it produces two effects: it gets you an artificial sense of happiness and it also makes ugly women look all right at nightclubs at 4:00am. Side effects may include waking up next to a wale (no that I hate nature). Also, I wrote a little thing based in your young guitar demo, if you hate it, please let me know, that will keep me drinking:

  37. Hey Jani, Italy here!
I recently found this blog, and I frequently read it to know about you since I really care! (Ok, maybe in a strange way since we never met or know each other, but, you know, music and art can establish a kind of kinship between people which sometimes is even stronger than the one you have with people you see everyday but for whom you basically don't give a f)
Just got in here to tell you a few things, I really hope you read this message.. First, thank you A LOT for the beautiful music you played back in the days of old, with Sonata until it lasted. I saw you twice on the European leg of the Reckoning Night tour alongside Nightwish (I was there for you, not for them even though they were headlining - gig in Milan on October 28th, 2004 was the first of my life!)and it was really AWESOME. Nowadays I've seen tons of gigs, but I keep those memories of your's as some of the dearest I can recall. Second, back in the days you were my idol in fact of guitar, and YOU inspired me to buy my first guitar at 16 - I don't know how this makes you feel, or if you can care less about it, since I feel like you are a very reserved person in a certain way (only impression!), but I only wanted you to know cause it meant a lot for me, believe me. Now I'm 24, still playing, different things, but still remember who you are and how much I loved and am still loving your guitar playing, so fast, clean, accurate and melodic. Third, last summer I bought Cain's Offering album and it was special, awesome! Morpheus lyrics are beautiful. I wonder what else of beautiful things could you do in Sonata if you had more space for write your own things.. but you know, this is life - never look back. I was really happy when I heard of your new albums and stuff, please keep on playing you talented basterd!! And remember, if you ever plan a tour with CO don't forget about Italy!!! I wish you all the best, really!
    Andrea

  39. Jani...
Maybe you never gonna read my comment, but I loved Sonata with you, and it's hard to love it without you.
Get a band... Make a band. You are, for me and many other guitarist, one of the best electric guitarist in the world. Some years ago, I had a dream, I wished to see Sonata arctica, but this dream faded when you had to leave the band.
Come back, you'r metal, you have great ideas (remember "My Selene" !) and a huge guitar skill.

    ReplyDelete
  42. Jani i've always wondered, in your case when you were in SA when Tony wrote the songs he just told you to come up with the solo for that song or usually the songwriter compose everything? I mean i never knew (in all bands in general) if the song was not written by the guitar/keyboard player how do they come up with a solo? they compose it themselves or the one who composed the whole song?

thanks man! i admire you a lot! Greetings

Gotta say, you're taste in movies is rather good. Inception was a fantastic movie!! Although, did you ever watch this one movie that came out about...oh, couldn't have been more than a year at most. It's called "Premium Rush". About bike riders in New York and they deliver messages and stuff and one guy was trying to hunt a certain message down. (for reasons that I won't list, it'd spoil the movie) But did you see it? If so, what'd you think of it? I thought it was rather good, considering filming bike riders isn't exactly a piece of cake.

  62. Jani...

One of my biggest regrets in life is missing the show you did in New Hampshire, USA during the Reckoning tour...I was wondering if you had any particular memories of visiting NH and what you thought of it? In case you can't remember, it was the show during which some strippers sneaked behind you guys on the stage...there was a videoclip of it on YouTube. You seemed pleasantly surprised when you noticed the dancers, but I was wondering what Tony's reaction was when he realized that he wasn't the star of the stage? The video cuts off before we get to see Tony's reaction. He seemed to think the crowd's roaring cheers during that moment were for him, haha...

  83. Hei Jani-poika! Love your style of lead guitar, miss it at Sonata and Altaria!! Can't wait for the new Cain's Offering album to come out(!!!!!). But I was wondering, have you ever thought about releasing a Jani Liimatainen Teaches Your How To Shred APP on iTunes??? Would love to buy your lessons from a true lead God. Like Guitar World has videos for 1.99 euro's, so that's an idea, right??

    Keep up the good leads,

    Andrew (Belgium)
