Let's

I guess I still don't drink enough...

Getting ready for the weekend

Today I've actually been practicing a bit, as there are some songs in Antti's setlist that I haven't played in a while. I've also provided our label audio clips of all the songs of "Blackoustic", hopefully they'll post them online soon for your listening pleasure, or just to piss you off in case you've already decided that it sucks :)

Should do some packing, I suck at it. I always leave it until the last minute and then forget something. I guess old habits die hard.

What's been up?

Well, yesterday I spent some time updating the OS X on my mac. Was running Leopard, and as Chrome stopped supporting it, one had to do something. Running Lion now. Today I've installed Parallels, which allows me to run Windows XP alongside the OS X. It felt a bit like heresy to install Windows on a mac, but since most pokersites don't have clients for mac + the Holdem Manager doesn't run either I thought I should give this a try. Seems to be working so far, and it is pretty handy having the Windows platform available as well, even if I really don't like it at all.

This was probably a bunch of info no one gives flying fuck about :)

I should start working on some clips from "Blackoustic" and send them to our label, maybe soon you get to hear a bit more how this puppy sounds like.

Was supposed to have an off-weekend, but somehow I promised to do 2 shows with Antti Railio instead. Ought to be fun though :)

All we have is emptiness...

Thunderbuddies 4 life:

Yeah, I went and saw "Ted" yesterday. It was pretty good, not awesome but definitely worth seeing. Especially the Thunder Song was great:) I just had some issues with the female character by Mila Kunis. I mean, she's an asshole. Not to spoil anything from you if you haven't seen this one yet, but she is a total ass throughout 3/4 of the movie. What the fuck is it with women that first they fall in love with a man because he is different and special, but then after a while they have to start trying to change the man into a more conventional and "adult" version, because he is different and special??? Jesus Taliban, make up your fucking minds and stop messing with ours!

You know what's kind of annoying?

Tonight I was watching a TV show, and in the show a guy strikes a tuning fork, and immediately says "E minor". WTF? First of all, most of the tuning forks are tuned to 440 hz A. I haven't heard of a tuning fork tuned to E yet, although physically that would be doable. What bothered me most was the "minor" part. A tuning fork gives you only one note, be it A or E or whatnot, whereas a minor is an interval and would require at least two notes to sound at the same time, in this case the root (E) and the minor third (G), and I don't think there is a tuning fork that can do that... Get your shit together folks!

I guess this would be how doctors feel like when watching ER or House M.D...

In other news: Whisky, still good.

iPhone 5 rage

Really, what's up with some people? Everyone and their mother seems to have a compulsive need to whine and bitch about the new iPhone that Apple introduced last week. Now, I don't really give a flying fuck about the phone, I don't really follow that scene at all. What baffles me is the peoples reaction to it. Apparently it is not all that breathtaking as was expected... So what?

This is kinda like people whining about Big Brother (the TV show), if you don't like it then don't fucking watch it. Same here, if you don't care about the new iPhone then don't fucking buy it, it really is as simple as that. I just find it so weird that people have the time and the energy to bitch and moan about something as trivial as a mobile phone. Find a hobby folks....

UPDATE: Found a fitting picture

Tattoos of Mother Russia

Been having having some rum and listening to what we've been working on recently, sounds pretty damn good if you ask me :) I've also now been watching a program about Russian prisons, and as they talked about how tattoos are a big part of the prison culture in Russia it reminded me of something.

A few years ago I was touring Russia with Paul DiAnno, and I was actually not allowed in into a club there, because of my tattoos. We tried to get in into a club with Jonas, a friend of mine who played bass on the tour (he is the bass player of MyGrain, which I strongly recommend you check out), and "Jukka Pussybear", our local monitor guy. As I have this one tattoo on my right hand that can't really be hidden we were not allowed in. Seemed surreal then, but I guess it's the culture... If this was the case in Finland the bars would be pretty damn empty :)

We found another club though, all's well that ends well :)

Mental note:

Laphroaig is great mental fuel for writing lyrics. Warmly recommend it.

Revenge of the Sith

Hands down pants down the best of the bunch when discussing the "new" Star Wars. I enjoy the dark overall feel, even if the dialogue is still kinda hammy at times. Some really cool scenes and a whiny Anakin. I still kinda like this, not as good as the 3 originals, but a solid effort.

Btw, drowning all the new ones in CGI probably looked good on a paper, but they look really dated already, whereas the originals look as classics. Call me biased, I call it like I see it.

Attack of the Clones

While I maintain that it is better than The Phantom Menace (which isn't saying much), it still was kind of a drag. Some cool scenes, but Hayden Christensen is terribad and some of the dialogue is absolutely atrocious. Especially teen-angst Anakin talking about his love and shit makes me cringe every fucking time, it's kinda embarrassing to watch, and the Anakin character all in all is a whiny bitch. Well, 2 down, 4 to go.

The phantom Menace

Is still a pretty crappy movie, fuck that little kid and fuck Jar Jar... Well, I suffered through it to make the story complete, good to know it only gets better from here on.

Survived

Survived the promo and the studio, but still feel like shit. Fuck this flu with a flaming fist. I have a few days off now, but on friday it's already back to work, and I probably have to do some crap during the week as well. I think I'll use the free time well and have a Star Wars marathon, along with the birthday gift I got for myself, a 1 litre bottle of Laphroaig...

@ the studio again

So, I defied the odds, survived the cruise, survived the birthday and live to fight another day. We're hanging at the 5by5 now, came here to record some promotional videos and crap for Blackoustic and to help the Strato guys out a bit. Still sick, but getting better day by day.

@ the boat

There's also a pre-listening of the album tonight and tomorrow.

Off to the cruise

Just woke up, still feel like shit but thankfully a bit less shit than the two previous days. Now some coffee and a shower, then it's off to Helsinki. Still don't know if my throat will be able to produce any kind of noises that could be described as singing, but time will tell...

It's like christmas...

Meaning that I'm sitting and drinking hot rum. Still sick, tomorrow is gonna be sooo awesome. Of course I can play no matter what, but singing might be a different story... Well, no use worrying about it, as there's jackshit I can do about it. I'll just have another rum and see what happens tomorrow.

You folks have a great friday night, party hard and stay safe. Don't do anything I wouldn't do twice :)

Man I'm tired...

In the train again, tired as hell but unable to sleep. Been sleeping around 2h a night for the last couple of nights. Stayed up until shit o'clock last night doing some translations, woke up waaay too early for me so I could help my sister with moving ( as in relocating, not twisting her limbs or anything). Carrying washing machines and shit is great exercise, saw no need for jogging today. Not that I would've had any time anyway, moving took quite a while, then I did some proofreading and then it was already time to take the train to Helsinki. Only 8 more hours to go, why the fuck did I just not take the morning flight from Kemi? I am officially an idiot...

A hot date

Today I got to take not one, but two girls to the movies. Granted, they were 7 and 4 years old, but I think it still counts :) BTW, "Brave" was totally ok flick.

Fuck

Fuck you all, especially you, you know who you are. I went to Oulu, still a great town. But yeah, fuck you, I still hate you and wish the worst for you, you know who you are.
